I am definitely beginning to feel the effects of school coming to an end. It seems as though all class are speeding up to cram every ounce of curriculum down the students throats. College Composition has a ten page paper due at the end of April and I feel the pressure coming on. Something to look forward to is the last ever NHS meeting for seniors!! Make sure to attend for final graduation announcements and a wrap up on service hours. Another exciting event is JA this weekend! Girls, grab your dresses and get ready! Last, but not least, is prom on May 3. The last dance will be sad but should also be a fun time for all.

Here is an interesting story I found on the web!
In Kentucky, a woman who suffers from osteogenesis-imperfecta, a type of dwarfism that caused her to be a maximum height of 28 inches, had her second child. Stacey Herald was told that she would never be allowed to have children since she was too small and her internal organs would be compacted. She said that her stomach was so big that she "looked like a snail" and an "Idaho potato with arms and legs." Stacey is married to a man of normal height and their first child suffered from the same disease as Stacey. Their newborn child Mukea, is expected to be normal height.

I am beginning to notice how the pace of school has picked up rapidly in the last few days. It seems as though I am loaded down with homework on a nightly basis compared to the beginning of the semester. College Composition, Spanish, and Math have really been weighing heavy lately and the work load has been relentless. My friends and I have been counting downs the days until spring break when we can finally RELAX--a word heard not too often in our school. Unfortunately, although I am looking forward to spring break, I have no exotic trips planned. Therefore, I am stuck in Liberty with the cold and snow while my friends get to go on a cruise :( My only solace is that my mom and I are going to Italy and Spain for two weeks during the summer...so I guess I cannot really complain!

Are We All Under the Influence?

Mischa Barton was charged with a DUI on Tuesday February 26, 2008 for driving under the influence, driving unlicensed and for possession of marijuana. The problem with these celebrity mishaps is that teenagers, especially young teenagers, read these news stories and begin to idolize these situations. Hollywood glamorizes underage drinking and partying and teenagers began to become immune to the severity of driving under the influence. Instead of making apologies, celebrities play these incidences off as "just another day in Hollywood," and the vicious cycle continues. Hollywood needs to stop manipulating young teens. These stars need to take responsibility for there immature actions and media needs to write the full story on the dire consequences of these "common" situations.

Two words...SNOW DAY! Sometimes I feel like our school has more time off then we do actual time at school. Since we have had a wonderful four day weekend, my life has basically been comprised of sitting at home and hanging out with my friends. Everyone should get excited because this upcoming week only consists of three and a half days of school! Since there is not much going on here in Liberty, lets check out the world of our crazy celebrities...

In a recent poll, it was discovered that celebrities political stance and opinions on politics had no affect on voters. I mean do I really care who Paris Hilton is voting for?

In other news, it seems that Nicole Kidman is about four months pregnant after being seen in Tokyo to promote her upcoming movie "The Golden Compass."

Finally, tonight is the 2008 Academy Awards so tune in to see who wins and check up the "interesting" fashion.
Until Next Time,
Emily

This past weekend has been crazy and really busy! Thursday night started with the Senior Girl's Lock In which was a ton of fun. The girls cranked out posters honoring clubs and teachers. Everyone was allowed to leave at 5:30 in the morning so the girls were exhausted!
On Friday night, the Courtwarming game took place. They Jays did a great job and Kaylee Hay and Chris Willett took Courtwarming Queen and King.
Saturday night was the Courtwarming dance which was a great time. We had a group of twenty and ate at M&S Grill which was really good and not super expensive. Next our group headed to the dance and ate breakfast at a friends house after.
On Sunday night I went with my aunt and sister to get my belly button pierced which was quite the experience. After I got the piercing done I was completely pale but it was relatively painless.

Until Next Time!

XO,
Emily
